SECURITY COURSES


Over a ten day period in late July and early August, the Municipality police delivered six sessions on security strategies, tactics and procedures for the private security personnel within Akumal.



The training sessions were very well attended, as more than 20 private security personnel from different parts of Akumal attended the course that was held in the room above Villas Maya Reception by the arch. Needless to say, the students were very attentive and eager to learn from the Municipality police.



With the opportunity to have six sessions spread out over the ten day period, the Municipality police took the time and opportunity to present a wide range of topics that can be directly applied to improving the overall level of security within Akumal. The course also provided an excellent environment for the local private security personnel to develop a better working relationship with the Municipality police. At the conclusion of the six day Security Training program, the students were recognized and honored with a certificate acknowledging their successful participation. The Municipality police have agreed to repeat this program at a future date to-be-determined for those private security personnel who were unable to attend this one.
